Dear Science Olympiad Team, We want to congratulate everyone on the tremendous success we had yesterday. Everybody should be proud of all their hard work and input and feel rewarded by the results. Over the years we really have improved a great deal. Although the 3 point margin and a few of the mishaps were disappointing, we should remember to feel proud of ourselves about how much we have accomplished. Speaking as the senior members of this club, we are saddened to know that by the end of this year Science Olympiad will be coming to a close for us. Being a part of this club has really meant so much. Personally, this is—by leaps and bounds—my favorite club in the school and I hope that it is or will become the same for all of you. We want to thank all the advisers—Mrs. Tsarevsky, Mr. Marvin, and Mr. Kreyling—for all of their dedication and effort in this club. See you all next Thursday! Sincerely, The Science Olympiad Board

** FEBRUARY 6th COMPETITION CANCELLED **
THE COMPETITION IS CANCELLED!
Meeting on Thursday, February 11 - Rain Date Competition Day will be discussed.
** Update 1/31 - Reminders **
Some stuff to think about and remember:
** Update 1/23 - Crunch Time **
Monday, February 1, 2010 - All Events Must Be Completed
Thursday, February 4, 2010 - Last Meeting
Saturday, February 6, 2010 - Competition Day!!
Hey Everybody,
As you all should know, the competition is 14 days away. Everyone should be done with their events and reviewing at this point. All structures and devices MUST be built by the next meeting or else you may have to sacrifice your chance to compete in those events. Also, all studying should be finished at this point; there is no time left to cram. Its Crunch Time now.
In the next two weeks, you should be making the final preparations on your events so on February 6, 2010 at Kellenberg Memorial High School you can represent Roslyn and show that we are a force that is not to be reckoned with. If everybody does their part, we WILL take the gold and head on to States in March.
If you are not sure about any events, make sure that you check the newyorkscioly.org site in order to work out all issues.
We only have two meetings left. See you there!

** Update 12/21 - Vacation **
Hey Everybody,
As you all know, the competition is right around the corner and once we get back from break, we have LESS THAN ONE MONTH before the competition. Now, you might be wondering "what does this mean for me?" Well, as a RHS SciOly Team Member, here are some of the things you should be doing over break or know for when we get back:
We know its a lot of info but we believe in you guys and know that this is what has to be done in order for Roslyn to succeed and make it to States! At the end of the day, that's our true goal: to be the best we can be and show it in competition by beating all of the other schools that are there!
Have a great vacation, happy holidays, and see everyone on Thursday, January 7th!!!!
Signed,
The Executive Board
** Updates 12/3 ***

Also, today's date is December 3. The competition is February 6. Thats TWO MONTHS. That's it! Everyone should be working hard on all their events, especially the builders who just got all of their materials today.
You guys all make up a great club and you should be proud of what your accomplishing.
See you all next week,
The Executive Board
** Updated 11/12 **
Hey Everybody,
Hope you all had a good Veteran's Day off. Now that we are back into the swing of things, attendance seems to have picked up again. We would just like to post the attendance policy and other attendance notes here on the front page, although it has been in the "Meeting Schedule" part of the site for a couple of months now.
Science Olympiad Attendance Policy: You must attend at least 80% of the meetings and sign in on the attendance sheet. Without signing in, there is no proof that you were there. Also, you must attend the regional competition on February 6, 2010.
You might notice that there are some Monday meetings added to the schedule. These are mandatory meetings that were added in order to compensate for the meetings we miss due to vacations and holidays.
The two weeks before the competition, we are going to have two meetings in both weeks. These again, are mandatory and you should be prepared to attend. Like all meetings, they will be at 2:40 in Room 131 or 130.
See you at the next meeting!!!

** Update 11/5 **
Only one thing to say:
ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY!
NOT SHOWING UP TO MEETINGS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!
** Update 10/19 **
Make sure you go browse the website, especially the newly updated T-Shirts, Meeting Updates, Bulletin Board, and Newsletter Sections. There is important information there that you have to make sure you get and know. Don't forget the competition is February 6, 2010!!! Save the date and be sure you can go!!! See you all at the next meeting!

** Update 10/09 **
Check out the newly completed "Event Partnership" page! It now contains all of the events with the specific partners for each event. If you have any complaints, be sure to send us a message using the "Contact Us" section of the site.
Don't forget that there are going to be at most three teams (its possible that there are only two) this year. That means for popular events that have multiple partnerships (i.e. Cell Bio, Sumobots, etc.), not every team is going to be keeping their event. What this means for you is that you have to work hard, prove your worth, and show that you and your partner deserve a spot on one of the teams representing Roslyn High School! It is going to get very competitive very quickly so make sure you are always on top of your game and are always working on what you need to!
Be sure to constantly check to website for important updates like these. All changes on the website are important to the optimal functioning of the club, so make sure that you see them!!!
Have a great Columbus Day Weekend and Enjoy Monday off of School.
See you all on Thursday, October 15!

** Update 10/01 **
The Events sections now has the updated list of events, showing the ones we only have for the regional competition. Also, new event responsibilities have been given out so you may now be responsible so go check it out on the Event Responsibility page. Also, in the Team Member slot, there is going to be a list of events with the people in each of the events. Remember, this list isn't final but it will be updated to what we have so far. Check the website often for more updates like these!
See you all at the next meeting,
The Executive Board
Welcome

When it comes time to, we will also be posting teams and members doing specific events.
